UNSC Resolution 1973 specifically:

Authorizes all necessary measures to protect civilians and civilian populated areas under threat of attack.

Libya's Health Ministry says 856 civilians have been killed in NATO airstrikes since they began in March.

162 Tomahawk Land Attack Cruise Missiles were launched from U.S. ships and submarines.  

Odyssey Dawn is being led from USS Mount Whitney. three B-2 stealth bombers attacked Libyan airfields, the mission, flown from Whiteman Air Force Base in Missouri, lasted 25 hours in total. A total of 15 US aircraft were used in a series of airstrikes on pro-Gadhafi forces. Among the aircraft were F-15s, F-16s, and AV-8B Harriers wh...ile U.S. Navy EA-18G Growlers provided electronic warfare support.

a USAF F-15E Strike Eagle crashed in Libya, As of 23 March, the US Department of Defense reported that 212 sorties had been flown by the U.S. On 27 March B-1B bombers from South Dakota struck targets in Libya, the first time B-1B Lancers had been launched from the continental United States to strike targets overseas.

On 28 March the United States deployed A-10 Thunderbolt II and AC-130U Spooky aicraft to participate in Operation Odyssey Dawn over Libya.

 

‎31 March marked the deployment of personnel from US Army Africa (USARAF) This marked the first time USARAF personnel had deployed to participate combat mission.

27 April 2011, the Bataan Amphibious Ready Group (ARG) and the embarked 22nd Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) relieved the Kearsarge ARG and its embarked 26th MEU in the US 6t...h Fleet area of responsibility. The Bataan ARG deployed 3 months ahead of schedule to relieve the Kearsarge ARG. The Bataan ARG consisted of the USS Bataan (LHD 5), USS Mesa Verde (LPD 19), and USS Whidbey Island (LSD 41). Embarked on the ARG were the 26th MEU, along with detachments from Naval Beach Group Two (CNBG) 2, Tactical Air Control Squadron (TACRON) 21, Fleet Surgical Team Six (FST) 8, Helicopter Squadron Twenty Two (HSC) 28, Beach Master Unit (BMU) 2, Assault Craft Unit (ACU) 2 and ACU-4.

Late on Saturday, NATO announced that it had mistakenly struck a column of Libyan rebel vehicles in an airstrike and expressed regret for any casualties that might have resulted.

The alliance has accidentally hit rebel forces before in its air campaign to protect civilians in the civil war.

The President has constitutional authority, as Commander in Chief and Chief Executive and pursuant to his foreign affairs powers. Whatever the president's "foreign affairs powers" may be, they do not, under the U.S. Constitution, include the power to launch military operations or hostilities or wars. Nor has the distinction between military operations" that involve what ordinary humans call warfare and hostilities that qualify for regulation under the War Powers Resolution been previously established. This distinction is as crazy as any that have come out of U.S. government lawyers in the past.

Bombing people's homes in a non-hostile manner with non-combat troops as part of an overseas contingency operation? To say that our aggressive bombing of Libya does not rise to the level of 'hostilities' flies in the face of common sense and is an insult to the intelligence of the American people. Am still waiting for an announcement charging obama with impeachment proceedings.
